Late Musings

September 26th, 2005 · No Comments · Uncategorized

It’s late, and I’m still working on hurricanes. Well, at least I’m not shoveling muck out of my house!

Saw the oncologist today. My white cell count has made a great recovery – solidly back to where it belongs after falling well below. Tuesday I’m off to Austin for the day; Wednesday it’s round 3 of chemo. Feeling as chemical as I have the last two days, I can’t imagine what it will be like with a new dose.

These are more lonely days than any so far. I can’t imagine going through this without knowing that there are people who care, people who are praying for you. Even more, God is there – He does not forget or forsake me. Nor does He give me more than I can bear. But it is rough, and very hard to explain how one feels in this battle.

Jordanatchemoday1Tuesday morning is a much more important event. Jordan has here adenoids removed at 7:00 a.m. and has tubes reinserted in her ears. Please pray for her and for Jill & Kevin as they care for her. She is "my little sweetie." If you have a granddaughter you know how I feel. She is very special, and that is putting it mildly. Click on her photo for a better look at one of God’s great gifts.
